Melissa Kelly

I took my first job in optical in 1996, working for an optometrist in a private practice. I really enjoyed working there, and was a fast learner. I became ABO certified by 1997, and have continued my education in the field, maintaining my certification until now. I started with Eyetique in 2002, working in our Squirrel Hill location. With all the exclusive eyewear collections and latest lens technologies that Eyetique offers, I really felt inspired to be the best optician that I could be and excelled even further- learning more and more. In 2007, I was feeling at the top of my game, and decided to move out of my comfort zone here in Pittsburgh. I lived and worked in Manhattan, NYC for 2 years. I worked for a very exclusive eyewear boutique with locations on Madison Avenue, Columbus Circle, The Plaza Hotel, and trendy Soho- where I ended up co-managing the store. For those two years, I worked with and styled some very high-profile and some famous residents of NYC. During that time, I was exposed to and learned so much about fashion and how to make someone feel and look fabulous! However, I really missed my hometown, my friends and my family, and returned to Pittsburgh in 2009. I am so thrilled to be back at Eyetique- there's nowhere I'd rather be!
